In 2002 Nuke won the Academy Award for Scientific Achievement and in 2007 productised by Foundry. Foundry software continues to develop the node-based compositor which has become the industry standard across the globe. MARI a texture painting application developed by Weta Digital was released in 2010. In 2011 Foundry released Katana which was originally developed by Sony Pictures Imageworks. HIERO, a shot management platform was designed in house. Hiero is a tool used to conform and review footage and was released in March 2012. In late 2012 Foundry merged with Luxology who were primarily known for Modo a 3D modelling and animation tool.
Foundry’s headquarters are in London, with offices in Manchester, Los Angeles, and Silicon Valley. It enables clients like Pixar, Mercedes-Benz, Google, ILM, Weta Digital, The Moving Picture Company and Sony Pictures Imageworks to turn incredible ideas into reality, by solving complex creative challenges.
